Our Services

Focus

At Bruce Peninsula Psychotherapy, I work with people ages 6 years and older.

I take a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative approach to psychotherapy. In my view, you are the expert of your own life circumstances and play an active role in your own mental well-being and growth. As your psychotherapist, I will be walking alongside you with an open-mind and act as a guide towards your goals. Together we can work to identify any unhelpful patterns of thoughts and actions and work towards developing patterns of thinking and behaving that serve you and bring you a deeper sense of contentment.

Services are available both in person, or virtually across Ontario.

Cost

Each psychotherapy session lasts for 50 minutes and costs $150. These services may be included in your healthcare benefits, but I currently do not provide direct billing to insurance companies. Please verify coverage with your insurance provider.

I believe that cost should not prevent anyone from accessing mental health services. Therefore, I offer sliding scale pricing based on individual circumstances, which will be discussed during a complimentary consultation.

Treatment Approaches

Personal experiences, cultural backgrounds, and mental health conditions call for a personalized therapy approach. By understanding and respecting clients' situations, goals, and feedback, treatment plans can be collaboratively adjusted to support clients’ healing and personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured psychotherapy that aims to identify and shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Its effectiveness in treating mental health issues is well-researched. CBT is a widely used therapeutic method that has adaptability and promotes clients’ active involvement in their healing processes.

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a listening intervention based on Polyvagal Theory developed by Dr. Stephen Porges. It uses specially designed music to enhance social engagement and emotional regulation by targeting the vagus nerve, promoting safety and calm.
